Restoration of Benefits

Here's Sample Language from a Long Term Care policy:

Under this Rider We will restore the Policy’s Lifetime Maximum to the amount that would have applied if no benefits had been paid under the Policy. Except as limited
below, this applies whenever a period of 180 consecutive days elapses during which no Insured required, or received, either:
> Substantial Assistance from another individual in performing at least two (2) Activities of Daily Living due to a loss of functional capacity; or
> Substantial Supervision due to Severe Cognitive Impairment.

The key with Restoration of Benefits is the 180 days, which is standard with many policies.  This rider is an option with Genworth Long Term Care plans, John Hancock, and many others, but is standard with many Prudential individual long term care insurance plans

Read about all available options/riders at our Long Term Care Insurance Riders page.
