News today from Richmond.com – a site focused on the Richmond, VA area:
Gov. Timothy M. Kaine announced the “Own Your Future” program, a statewide, multimedia campaign to encourage Virginians to plan ahead for their long-term care needs. Nearly 200,000 citizens between the ages of 50 and 52 will receive a letter and informational DVD from Kaine to increase awareness of long-term care planning options.
Virginia and their partnership program are setting a nationwide trend in partnership programs that provide increased asset protection for policyholders of Long Term Care Insurance. In fact, all Virginians can go to a Web site and request a free “Own Your Future” DVD. The film focuses on long-term care planning for baby boomers all across Virginia. The DVD includes additional information about two often-misunderstood government programs: Medicare and Medicaid. Also available to all Virginia residents is the state-prepared Long-term Care Planning Kit, which highlights specific Virginia services and offers baby boomers in Virginia other valuable resources to help in planning for the future.
