Long Term Care Insurance : The San Diego Situation
Thursday, 01 November 2007

The San Diego wildfires of this month highlight the need for all Americans to look at long term care insurance at early ages.  Today a story in The San Diego Union Tribune highlights the sad facts of life after such a disaster.  Many of the burn victims are illegal immigrants who don't have LTCI.

With some facing a long rehabilitation, hospital officials said they realize many U.S. taxpayers don't believe UCSD should provide such expensive hospital care to illegal immigrants. But, by law, that care must be provided “to anyone who comes regardless of their ability to pay.”

The facts don't lie: almost half of thoseon long term care insurance claim are under the age of 50.  With the average cost of care in San Diego being as high as $82,000 (as of 2007, according to Genworth Financial) the costs of care will continue to rise.  The odds are not good either: more and more Americans are going to need long term care, with or without insurance.  You can get your San Diego Long Term Care Insurance quotes below...
