Governor sent letters to 400,000 Iowans, touting a Federally-funded information dispensing program called “Own Your Future,” designed to get people away from dependence on the limited and taxpayer-draining Medicaid Long Term Care program. Several states are promoting this program calling it the Iowa Long Term Care Insurance Partnership program. As we all know the Federal government is short on cash these days and will be for the next gazillion years, so with the “baby-boomer” generation now entering those years where a significant percentage of them (43%) will need some sort of LTC, something different than the current routine is needed.
