A new Star Ratings service for nursing homes

We've all been to them, you know the nursing homes that when you open the door you wish you couldn't smell.  How great would it be to have a star rating system like there is for hotels for nursing homes?   The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have developed exactly that, a star rating service.  The new Zagat-like rating system gives nursing homes one to five stars for quality, staffing, and health inspections; plus an overall score.  Putting a loved one in a nursing home is a traumatic event for everyone involved and a rating system that will allow you to stick your toe in the water so to speak, would be a great starting point.
