The benefits on a Long Term Care Policy can vary greatly - and can be
customized for your particular needs. When you consult with one of our
long term care planners, we will assist you in selecting the right
options.
Home Health Care Benefits. Every policy we recommend offers
some form of home health care. This is important, because our most
recent research indicates that 75% of claimants use Home Health Care
Benefits - and 45% choose informal home health care providers - not
agencies. (Source: Genworth, Jan. 2008) We suggest getting 100% home
health care as opposed to the limited 'HHC' offered by some group
plans.
Facility Care Benefits. The thing most people thing about when
they think about long term care is nursing homes. Equally as popular
are Assisted Care Facilities, which are less intensive and more
welcoming that nursing homes. Our policies will provide you the
flexibility to choose from a wide variety of care options when you need
it.
Did you know? 71% of benefit dollars paid go
to women. Only one in four claims are made for facility care, the rest
are for home care - agency or nonagency.
Non-Agency Service. Many of pir policies do not require
caregivers to be employed by an agency. This provision allows for
community members or non-skilled caregivers to perform Homemaker Services as well as Chore Services like taking out the garbage or minor repairs. Imagine having all of the assistance you need to remain safely at home and not in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
Preferred Health Discount. Up
to 20% of your premium is discounted if you are in good health and
eligible for preferred health discounts. This attribute makes our Long
Term Care Insurance less expensive than most group LTC plans.
Couples Discount. Up to a 40% premium discount is available for couples who apply and are eligible.
Small Business Discount. Most of our carriers have a 5% small business discount if your business meets eligibility requirements.
A common misconception is that group long term care insurance is less expensive than individual plans (or spousal plans). In most cases, with good health, your individual premiums can be less expensive than a group plan. With individual plans, you also get more benefits, such as 100% home health care instead of 50% or 75%.
Each carrier offers slightly different
benefits, discounts, and conditions. All of our carriers, however,
have simple and easy-to-understand guidelines for how you qualify.
With each quote packet, we'll include product brochures with our
company analysis.
